Screen Printing for Large Runs, Campaigns and Event Tees

The cheapest method per piece on large runs, with multiple inks and broad coverage. For campaigns, events and department tees.

Embroidery & Screen Printing

Screen printing has a setup cost — the screen, the exposure, the registration — and after that the cost per piece collapses. That is why it is the right method for large runs and the wrong method for twenty pieces.

It solves what embroidery does not do well: large color areas, multi-ink designs, full backs. A safety campaign with a big message across the back is screen printing; an eight-centimeter logo on the chest of a polo is embroidery.

We print on tees, t-shirts, uniforms and campaign garments, with careful registration on multi-ink designs and a color proof before running the job.

What to check in this line

Low cost per piece on large runs

Setup gets amortized. Past a certain volume, no other method competes.

Multi-ink with registration

Flat-color designs with controlled overlay and no misalignment between layers.

Large areas

Full backs and wide chests, which is where embroidery becomes expensive and heavy.

Color proof

Approved before the run. After the first dozen, correcting gets expensive.

Where it is used

  • Safety and health campaigns
  • Corporate event tees
  • Department identification on the back
  • Seasonal and promotional uniforms
  • Contractor and visitor garments
  • Tournaments and team-building
Questions

About industrial screen printing

Screen printing for large runs, large areas and multiple inks. Embroidery for small logos on daily-wear garments, because it survives repeated washing better.

There is a minimum because screen setup costs the same for ten pieces as for five hundred. We state the exact break point in the quote.

With the right ink and curing it holds up well. It cracks when the ink is under-cured or when printed on a knit that stretches too much, such as polo piqué.

It is ideal, especially for ink separation. A high-resolution bitmap also works, with a preparation step first.
