When a plant switches from steel to polycarbonate toe caps, the complaint that disappears first is weight. A pair of boots with a metal cap carries roughly a third more at the toe, and that third is felt at the end of a twelve-hour shift.
The extra-wide polycarbonate cap we carry delivers high compression and impact resistance, does not splinter or fracture if the cap is subjected to an impact or compression, transfers far less heat into the boot and is 33 % lighter than a steel cap. The anti-roll brow keeps the cap from shifting toward the foot under an edge load.
It is the mandatory choice for electrical maintenance, cold rooms and any area where a metal detector is part of the process, because polycarbonate is 100 % dielectric and does not trip the gate.
